Father I take a stand and rise up in faith and agree together with all the saints and heaven that it is written: “‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my good pleasure'” (Is. 46:10b).
Father I cover the first 100 days of the Trump presidency and onward by agreeing in the spirit concerning heaven’s decision to appoint Donald Trump as president of the United States. For it is written in Romans 13:1-3, Daniel 2:21 and Daniel 4:17, it is God who appoints those in authority to accomplish His will!
I agree in unison with the saints to cancel and bind up all the plans of the enemy to thwart the Fathers plan for this new White House, for America, for the church, for the nations and the coming great awakening harvest.
We cancel and abolish the scheme of the evil one to do as much damage as possible to this new president, administration and those who are coming to occupy this new territory. We cancel and abolish the plans of the evil doers to do harm and rob us of our peace of mind and confidence in the Lord.
The Lord has said, “My Word is enough!” And Gods Word ratifies and determines every court case in heaven. Regardless of the arguments presented or threats delivered, it is the Judge’s final word that settles the case. Lord strengthen our faith and trust in YOU to do what YOU have promised.
God’s plans are sealed in heaven regarding this shift in governmental authority, and I take a stand with all the saints and agree that Gods word and promises are secure. Father we avert the enemies intrusion into this process by the power of our agreement in prayer.
Father we evict the collective mindset in this land built against the Kingdom of God and Your righteousness, and we evict it by our collective unity in prayer. We have been given the authority and access to occupy this territory by Gods command, and that is enough to bring the divine protection needed. Lord release your angels of protection over your warring saints!
Father we decree justice, arrests, indictments and convictions of the evil doers who have committed treason and every sort evil against America, the people of God and other nations, especially Israel!
We rise up in faith and agree in prayer that the enemy is bound and that the Word of the Lord stands over this nation and will not be revoked. I stand in the truth of God’s victory and that America will fulfill her destiny as a sheep nation and a discipler of sheep nations in these end times!
Satan is an illegal squatter, and it is God Who has given us the authority to speak peace to the land and to this process of governmental shift in order to accomplish Gods will.
I stand in the confidence of a good Father whose pleasure it is for us to enter this new season. It is His joy for us to take down the giants in the land and take our place as His sons and daughters.
Father may Your sons and daughters truly become the MATURE sons You have called us to be as we do Your will by exercising our authority that You have given us through Christ Jesus.
Lord strengthen us for this journey and teach us how to rest and war in order to avert the device of satan to wear out the saints!
We pray this in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!!!
2017 – The Year Where Great Expectations Are Turning into Reality!
By Sarah Beveridge
A little Re-cap of 2016
Last January 2, 2016 I posted what I had received from the Lord for 2016. The message actually started to be revealed to me on November 30, 2015. In that post “2016 and Beyond – The Coming Move of the Spirit” I wrote about the scriptures Holy Spirit led me to for 2016, which was John chapter 16. The Lord then confirmed that chapter with a prophetic experience in my life that lasted for three months.
As we are now entering into the year 2017, I have reflected on the past year and I am encouraged to see the things I wrote about started to manifest, and it is just the beginning.
After the election of Donald Trump, so many things came into focus for me. The first thing I recognized is that over the last eight years during the Obama administration, the church, for the most part, had retreated into itself and had not been an effective witness or engaged the culture. This created a huge vacuum in society where the devil got a foothold and was able to get his message and agenda spread far and wide during that time. But the message and agenda of the Kingdom of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ has been marginalized and even demonized. Christians became fearful.
This lack of witness in the culture and society is in complete disobedience to the instructions Jesus gave us. He said to go be the salt and light before men, and go make disciples of all nations. (Mat 5:13-16, Mat 28:19-20, Mar 16:15-18.) The Lord confirmed to me our failure in this commandment when He gave me a vision in June 2016 of a dust pan with a salt shaker in it. Wow that one stung!
I have to confess that I did not even vote in the 2012 presidential election. I have barely and rarely prayed for President Obama and the leaders in our government. Except that I did continually ask that the Lord would raise up godly leaders in our government and also overturn Roe vs. Wade. I felt like I needed to repent of this lack of prayer because scripture is clear we are to pray for our leaders. Whether we believe it or not, it is GOD who appoints those in authority over us. IT IS WRITTEN! Read Romans 13:1-7, Daniel 2:21 and Daniel 4:17. I believe that the eight years of Obama will actually turn out to be a good thing for the church. When Hillary Clinton was running and we contemplated how bad things would get with her as our leader, it was a wakeup call for the church. We may not have realized that if we had not already faced eight years under Obama. And this brings me to the FOUR things the Lord personally gave me to share, and pray into for the upcoming year. The number “four” biblically symbolizes Gods creative works, and I believe He gave me these four things because God is going to show Himself very strong in His people in 2017!
Number One – Be the Salt and Light
Fear has really gripped the church when it comes to how we engage in our society, and especially pastors, and the Lord is saying STOP BEING FEARFUL! We have not been given a spirit of fear!
1 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Let us make it a priority to be the salt and light we are called to be! This is a huge issue for the church. And it also means a lot to the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not shrink back! But instead engage in our culture and engage the people around you by letting your saltiness “rub” them a little. Do not be afraid to do this, because God has said that when we plant seeds and water, He brings the increase!
To be “salty and shine your light” does not necessarily entail speaking in “Christianese” all the time. People do indeed get turned off by that. Ask the Lord to help you be an effective witness with a new expression of saltiness, light and love and a language that gets the attention of people and “rubs” them into thinking about things in a different way. Ask the Lord to help you see as He sees and love as He loves. It’s time to do this saints. Make no mistake about it, the Lord is watching how we are going to respond to this time of reprieve He has given us.
Number Two – Great Expectations are turning into Reality!
On November 13, 2016 I had a very amazing experience. I was sitting on my couch praying and waiting on the Lord. All of a sudden the atmosphere shifted so dramatically that my left ear popped really loud and I had to look around to see what just happened. Then I felt GREAT HOPE rise in my spirit. As this happened I heard these words come into my spirit and I spoke them out loud, “Great expectations are turning into reality!” I believe what happened is that an angel of the Lord entered the room and brought this message from the Lord. I have had other experiences with angels (and demons) where a shift in the atmosphere occurred, so I knew that is what it was.
This message has been very encouraging, but also challenging to me since I typically am one who has low expectations, and I believe the Lord is dealing with me on this issue. In 2016 the Lord was dealing with me on what comes out of my mouth. I have been led to pay attention to what I say and stop coming into agreement with the devils kingdom and start coming into agreement with God by speaking life and love.
Next month will be nine years I have been walking with Jesus with my whole heart. For the first several years it seemed my focus was on “Gods impending judgment” and then I shifted to the “imminent rapture” for a couple years. From my observation it appears that most born again Christians fall into about three to four groups, the impending judgment camp, the rapture camp and the blessings camp. In reality all are biblical and I believe God judges, and I believe in the rapture and Gods blessings. But what I have learned is that we must seek and desire to be aligned with what God is doing at any given time, because HIS plans are what really matters and this is the group I want to be part of. And God is telling us to EXPECT GREAT THINGS and they will turn into reality!
I recently read that “the most vital key in the period between believing and manifesting the answer is this matter of expectation.”
The definition of expectation is:
-a strong belief that something will happen, or be the case in the future
-the degree of probability that something will occur
Expectations can be negative also, so we must change our outlook to align with God and stop leaning on our own understanding, and low expectations. : )
Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope (G1680 – EXPECTATION) fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope (EXPECTATION) by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Matthew 15:11 It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”
1 Corinthians 9:10 …it was written for us, so that the one who plows and the one who threshes the grain might both EXPECT a share of the harvest.
Number Three – Seven Fold Refining Fire in 2017
This morning I was in prayer and asked Jesus if He had anything else for me to share for 2017. In waiting on the Lord, He spoke clearly, “seven fold refining fire in 2017 for those who have not cooperated with the Lords pruning.”
When I asked what “seven fold” meant, the Lord said “unto completion.” The term “seven fold” is found in the scriptures about 34 times in connection to the term “seven times,” and these scriptures bear witness to completion. Here is the link to read them for yourself.
Saints, the refiner’s fire, also known as “pruning” in John chapter 15, is a very critical aspect of our sanctification in order to mature into overcomers. I have experienced it repeatedly, and I’m sure most of you reading this have also. But there are many who have resisted the Lord and are not walking in obedience to His desire to prune in order to produce more excellent fruit of the Holy Spirit (John 15:1-4).
Just yield to the Lord and go with it. You will be very glad you did, and I can also tell you it is never as bad as you think it will be. Afterward I have always thought that it could have been much worse and thanked the Lord that is was not.
The True Vine – John 15
1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
Number Four – Seven Fold Friendship with Jesus in 2017
I saved the best one for last. This was also spoken to me in prayer this morning and I knew immediately this speaks to what the Lord had been teaching me about the tabernacle of Moses since 2014. At the end of 2014 I wrote a book called “My God and Yours Jesus Christ, a Letter to my Brethren.” In the writing of that book the Lord told me, “the pattern of the tabernacle overlays everything.” I speak about this in the book. More revelation has been revealed to me about the tabernacle in the last two years. This word relates to it.
There are three chambers in the tabernacle, the Outer Court, the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. Each chamber has an amazing amount of typology, symbology and prophetic foreshadow. I highly recommend study of the tabernacle. Check out the chart I made that may be of help.
The Outer Court speaks to the Christians who are saved by grace but have not been sanctified. Since they have not entered into the Holy Place, where the table of showbread and lamp-stand are located, they are lacking the sanctification the bible clearly teaches is a necessary part of our progress toward overcoming.
The Holy Place symbolizes the Bride of Christ because she is set apart and sanctified by the Holy Spirit and the word of God.
As if being the Bride of Christ were not enough, the Most Holy Place symbolizes the “Friends of God” and the “Friends of the Bridegroom.” This is a very controversial thing and I know many may not track with this, but I am telling you saints that our relationship with Jesus is totally based on the level that we choose. If you want to be Gods friend, then you are invited! And that is what the Lord is saying here. He is going to bring many of His people into an amazing friendship with Him and “unto completion.”
The Holy Spirit is saying “becoming is overcoming.” The more we become like Christ and are formed into His image the more we overcome. The closer we are to Him, the more we become like Him! In reality, this is the most important part of being a Christian, above winning souls and really anything we “do” for the Lord.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”
Becoming a friend of the Lord will entail coming out of your comfort zone and taking up His heart and agenda, including His pain. I had a dream in September 2016 where I realize now I was given a glimpse of this. In the dream I was on a couch (means my covenant with God) and I saw my “Father” standing in a hallway, (means transition.) The hallway was dark and I could not see Him clearly, but I knew He wanted me to know more about him. I then took a pillow I was holding and covered my head and face because I could not look at Him. This dream is speaking about a transition out of my comfort zone and into the deep knowledge of God, including knowing those things that will make me uncomfortable. Dear Lord, I want to be your friend, help me come out of my comfort zone and “unto completion!”
Much Love in Christ,
PS On December 23, 2016 the Lord gave me clear instructions to write another book. It is so different from anything I could ever think of and I am excited about it and have already started to write. Therefore after writing this post, I will be focusing on writing the new book and you will likely not hear much from me for a while.
I am a scribe and prophetic intercessor ministering on-line since 2008.
In 2015, the Lord radically shifted me to the task of calling the bride of Christ to her proper position at the right hand of Christ. The book “My God and Yours, Jesus Christ” is my first book and it is a very important message from the Lord for those who are called and chosen and have ears to hear that time is almost up, and NOW is the time to make ourselves ready! (2 Cor 11:2, Rev 19:7, Col 3:1, Eph 1:3, 20, Eph 2:6)
Jesus already paid the price and established the victory. It is His will that we walk in that victory and overcome this world! My heart is to see Gods people come to know Him in a deeper way and be the overcomers that He intensely desires us to be. That is my goal as well, since I make no claim to be perfect, I am running the race set before me to win the prize! I am a friend of Jesus…and I just believe God! Maranatha!
The Doctrine of Imminence and the Spirit of Prophecy
By Sarah Beveridge
The doctrine of imminence or immanency as it is understood today, is the belief in the imminent or any moment return of Jesus to catch away His bride. It is taught in many evangelical churches and denominations. In this belief, it is currently taught that Jesus can come “at any moment” and there are no signs that need to occur and no prophecies that need to be fulfilled before the rapture/resurrection, and the claim is that the rapture is a “sign less event.” Although I find it rather ironic that many of the same Christians who espouse the doctrine of imminence are also watching and reporting the signs and speaking about bible prophecy.
About a year ago I started to research the “doctrine of imminence” and I am sharing my discoveries that led me to draw a different conclusion than the one I held previously. In my own journey to understand what true biblical imminence is and is not, what kept coming up in my spirit was this; if Jesus can come at any moment and His coming is “imminent”, then why is the Lord giving me dreams and visions where He is clearly showing me events in my future and the future of the church? This seemed to contradict the doctrine of imminence. Although I knew I was hearing from God, clearly something was not right about the “any moment” return of Jesus and I had to learn what it was. I don’t use personal experience to validate truth, I use the bible, so I knew the answer was in scripture and I set out to understand this paradox.
The Early Church and Imminence
One of the primary reasons given for belief in the doctrine of imminence is the belief that the early church believed and taught it. And the thinking goes that if the early church believed it, then it must be true. I find it sad and ironic how so many other things the early church believed and practiced are not taught and adhered to today.
There is no question the early church was looking for and expecting the Lord Jesus Christ to come in their lifetime. But after researching this I found that what the early church really believed was more accurately “expectancy” and not an “any moment, imminent” resurrection/rapture. They were expecting the Lord to come in their lifetime, and they lived their life as though He would, and they taught that Christians should be prepared at all times to meet the Lord. Paul said that “TODAY is the day of salvation.” (2 Cor 6:2) This dovetails into what Jesus really taught about the immanency of Christ, as you will read about further on in this article.
There is no question that scripture conveys Jesus promised that He would come back for His faithful followers and He taught to always be prepared to meet Him. (John 14:1-4, Mat 16:28, Mat 26:64, Mat 24:42-51.) But was Jesus really saying He was going to come back to rapture His church at any moment? After very close scrutiny of the scriptures, prayer and asking the Holy Spirit to teach me, I do not believe scripture supports that notion at all. To the contrary, there are many things Jesus said that absolutely show us there were things the church should be expecting to see before He came for them. There is only one place in scripture where Jesus speaks of coming to “receive” His people to Himself and take them to heaven, and that is John 14: 1-4. But He does not say this could occur at any time.
Jesus told His disciples they would see many events BEFORE His coming and these are just some examples:
The temple would be destroyed- fulfilled in 70 AD (Mat 24:2, Mark 13:2, and Luke 21:6)
The Holy Spirit would come in power (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8)
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars, and when we see these things we would know our redemption was near. Clearly this indicates “signs” we are to look for prior to the catching away. (Luke 21:25, Acts 2:16-21)
Jesus said that when we “see these things come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads for your redemption draws near.” (Luke21:28) Clearly Jesus was telling us we would see some things before our “redemption.” (Read Romans 8:23.)
Jesus told Peter that he would get old and die and his death would glorify God. Peter was absolutely part of the early church and a primary Apostle chosen by Jesus to “feed His sheep.” Since Peter knew the prophecy the Lord gave him about his own death, would he have also believed Jesus could come at any time? Of course not! (John 21:18-19)
Jesus said a specific generation would not pass away until all the things He was speaking of were fulfilled (Mat 24:32-34.) That generation are those who would be alive from the time Israel became a nation in 1948 (the fig tree puts forth leaves) and conclude sometime with-in that time frame, which is generally understood to be the life span of a man, which is about 70-80 years. (Psalm 90:10)
If the rapture is at any moment, then what about all the scriptures where we are instructed to watch and therefore know the time and season of His coming? Jesus said we would not know the day or hour, but He absolutely said that if we watched we would know the season. (Read Mat 16:3, Mat 24;42, Mat 25:13, Mark 13:33-37, Luke 12:38-40, Luke 21:36, 1 Thes 5:6, Rev 3:3)
These are just a sampling of prophecies that have either come to pass, are in the process of coming to pass or have not yet come to pass. In fact, in the Olivet discourse, when the disciples of Jesus asked this question in Matthew 24:3 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Jesus went on to give many signs to look for and in no way did He ever insinuate His coming would be sign- less and imminent.
The Apostle Paul also clearly states there are specific and significant “signs” to look for prior to our “assembling to meet the Lord” (rapture). Namely a great falling away from the faith and the revealing of the “son of perdition” will occur FIRST according to Paul.
“Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet him, we beg you, brethren, not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way;for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thes 2:1-4)
The True Biblical Doctrine of Imminence
So why does Jesus instruct us to be prepared to meet Him at any time? This should be obvious, but to answer that from scripture we need to go to a parable in Luke 12:16-21. In these passages we learn what the TRUE doctrine of imminence is, as taught by Jesus Himself. In this parable of the rich man building two barns, Jesus indicates that at any moment a man’s soul may be required of by God, and therefore Jesus can come at any moment for any one of us. To quote a man of God that I have learned much from over the years; “the term ‘immanency’ is a term of discipleship and conduct as to how we ought to live our Christian lives and is not necessarily an eschatological term. Jesus may come at any instant for any believer at any time in history.”
I believe without a doubt that we are the last generation and that will see the rapture of the church and the second coming of Jesus to set up His Kingdom. And this is because we are absolutely seeing all the signs that Jesus said would be present, and if we are wise virgins let us heed the Lords command to be watchful, in prayer and prepared to meet Him. The Lord had me write a book on the subject of preparation, being a disciple and fulfilling our calling and destiny NOW, before He comes. So I am fully aware of the times and seasons. But if we are completely honest, we have no idea when the Lord may decide to take each of us home. The bible is clear that we should live our Christian life to the fullest, doing Gods will and obeying Him in all that we are commanded to be and do on this side of eternity.
“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” (James 4:13-15)
Even still, with all this said, and the signs manifesting, The Lords coming to rapture His church is still NOT imminent or at any moment. James tells us to be patient as we see the nearing of that day, which we are seeing, but patient we must be because a harvest has to come first.
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5:7-8
Now let’s go deeper…
New Testament scriptures that are used to teach the “doctrine of Imminence”
Most Christians do not dig deep enough and only skim the surface in bible study and therefore miss very much truth that is waiting to be discovered. Also remember that we must consider the full picture, the whole context and the full council of scripture in order to draw our conclusions.
The word “imminent” or “immanency” is not found in scripture. There are four scriptures that use the term “at hand” or “nigh”. (Read James 5:8, Romans 13:11, Philippians 4:5 and 1 Peter 4:7) These are the words and primary scriptures used to teach the “doctrine of immanency” related to the rapture.
The same word “at hand” is also used to denote “nearness, closeness and access to God.” In some cases I believe those scriptures are really implying access to God because that is the primary meaning in the Greek. I believe this is true of Philippians 4:5 which you will read further down. Also think of the Lords promise to “never leave nor forsake us.” (Heb 13:5, Deut 31:6)
In Luke 21:31 Jesus tells His disciples that when you see all the signs coming to pass that He mentions in the preceding verses 5-30, know that the “Kingdom of God is at hand”. (G1451)
“So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.” (Luke 21:31)
Very clearly Jesus is giving an instruction to His disciples to watch for specific signs related to His coming. There is NOT ONE scripture where Jesus ever said not to watch for and recognize signs that would indicate the time and season of His return to catch away His church. The Apostle Paul echoes this same principle in scriptures such as 1 Thessalonians 4:1-4 where he outlines specific events to watch for that will occur prior to the resurrection/rapture.
Below I have listed many scriptures that are used by those who teach and believe in the doctrine of imminence as related to the rapture. I also give the dates that the scriptures were written. Please read the whole chapters in context and study the scriptures closely and notice the admonition to “watch and be prepared”. And also notice the “expectancy” that is conveyed. I perceive the expectancy the early church had that Jesus would come in their lifetime, and not this modern idea that Christ can come at any moment to rapture His church. Also pay attention because at the end of the list is a surprise.
James – WRITTEN BY JAMES, HALF BROTHER OF JESUS – APPROX AD 49-50 (Likely before the Jerusalem council meeting in Acts 15)
“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. (nigh= G1448) 9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. (James 5:7-9).
NOTE: James 5:7-9 is clearly stating there is a harvest before the coming of the Lord. In verse 8 the word “nigh” is G1448 (Greek- eggizō) which means “drawing near, approaching.” This shows me that James was expecting Jesus to come in his lifetime, but what he never says is that Jesus can come at any moment.
1 Thessalonians – WRITTEN BY PAUL APPROX AD 50-52
“And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come” (1 Thes 1:10).
“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” (1 Thes 5:6).
NOTE: Take notice of the expectancy, the warning to be watchful and sober; in other words Paul is saying, pay attention to the signs! Clearly they were expecting the Lord to come in their life time, but not one word about Jesus coming at any moment. In his second letter to the Thessalonians (2 Thes 2:1-4) Paul clearly told them to watch for specific events to occur before the “gathering/assembling” of the Saints. Why would he contradict himself by even implying the Lord can come at any moment?
Mark –WRITTEN BY JOHN MARK APPROX AD 55-65
“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:33-37).
NOTE: The words of Jesus reiterate the warning to His people to be watchful and in prayer. Certainly He would never tell His disciples don’t worry about anything because you have 2000 more years to go. Of course He wants every generation to be the best Christians and disciples they can be, never letting our guard down and allowing the world to ensnare us. These scriptures also confirm that no man knows the day or hour, but other scriptures warn us we should know the times and season.
1 Corinthians –WRITTEN BY PAUL APPROX AD 55
“so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor 1:7).
NOTE: The expectation and eagerness to see the Lord is again highlighted in this verse. Does Paul say the Lord can come at any moment?
Romans –WRITTEN BY PAUL APPROX AD 56-58
“Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: (G1448) let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light” (Rom 13:11-12).
NOTE: This scripture, Romans 13:11 really goes with what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 6:2 … now is the day of salvation. In verse 12 “at hand” is G1448 (Greek- eggizō) which means “drawing near, approaching.” Again this is not implying Jesus is coming at “any moment” but “expectancy” that the day would come in their lifetime.
Philippians –WRITTEN BY PAUL APPROX AD 60-62
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Phil 3:20).
“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand” (Phil 4:5).
Note: In context the word “at hand” in Philippians 4:5 is G1451 (Greek- eggys) and it means “nearness and access to God”. This verse is really saying “the Lord is close by, near” so watch your behavior.
1 Timothy –WRITTEN BY PAUL APPROX AD 61-65
I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times (G2540) he shall shew, [who is] the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; (1 Tim 6:13-15).
NOTE: In 1 Timothy 6:15 Paul is saying Jesus will come in His times. The word “times” is G2540 (Greek- Kairos) which means:
A measure of time, a larger or smaller portion of time, hence:
a fixed and definite time, the time when things are brought to crisis, the decisive epoch waited for
opportune or seasonable time
the right time
a limited period of time
to what time brings, the state of the times, the things and events of time
This implies that there is a set time, a Kairos moment, an appointed time, the right time, but ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT indicate Jesus is coming at “any moment” or “imminently.”
1 Peter – WRITTEN BY PETER APPROX AD 62-65
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:13).
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer” (1 Peter 4:7).
Note: In 1 Peter 4:7 the word “at hand” in this verse is Strong’s G1448 (Greek- eggizō) and it has a different meaning than G1451 (Greek- eggys). G1448 means to bring near, to join one thing to another, to draw or come near to, to approach. Basically Peter is saying the end of the world is approaching, so be sober. Was the end of the world really near? No, but clearly this scripture shows us that the early church was expecting Jesus to come in their lifetime, but not at any moment.
Hebrews – WRITTEN BY PAUL (or Apollos or possibly Barnabas . . . ?) APPROX AD 60-62 or as late as AD 70 prior to the destruction of Jerusalem.
“So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Heb 9:28).
“Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the Day approaching” (Heb 10:24-25).
“For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry” (Heb 10:37).
NOTE: The “expectancy” of the early church to see the Lords coming is apparent in these scriptures. Again, I am seeing “expectancy” and not the “any moment”, “imminent” coming of Christ that is taught in todays churches.
Revelation – WRITTEN BY JOHN APPROX AD 90-96
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (Rev 3:11).
“Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book” (Rev 22:7).
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Rev 22:20).
NOTE: These scriptures are consistent with the teachings of Jesus to always be ready to meet Him, which is the true “doctrine of imminence.”
Did you notice something else?! All of the scriptures that are used by teachers of the “doctrine of imminence” were written anywhere from 26-47 years BEFORE John ever wrote the Revelation of Jesus Christ! What this means is that the most important and valuable prophetic book in the bible with a multitude of post-apostolic church era and end time prophecies was written AFTER all the other New Testament scriptures were written. And the prophecies for the seven churches that actually existed in Asia Minor at the time John wrote the book of Revelation, would shortly begin to experience those prophecies that were for them. Let’s read Revelation 1:1-3 and notice that Jesus tells John the words of the prophecy are about to come to pass.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Rev 1:1-3)
In fact, the prophecies to the seven churches of Asia Minor did come to pass already. The seven churches is a HUGE and multi-layered topic and I won’t go further into it here. But the point I am making is that if the early church believed Jesus could come any moment, and there are no signs, and no prophecies that need to be fulfilled, then when John presented the seven letters to the seven churches around AD 96, they would have experienced quite a shock, when for example, the church at Smyrna was given a prophecy in Revelation 2:8-19 that some of them would be put in prison for ten days.
Therefore how could the early church have thought the coming of Jesus to rapture His church would be at any moment and without any signs or impending prophecies if the most prolific end time prophecies in the bible had not even been written yet?
With all this said, I believe the modern church has taken the true biblical doctrine of the imminence of Christ and applied human understanding and reasoning to it and made it into something that it was never intended to be. And I believed this teaching, not because I had studied it and came to my conclusion from study, but because I believed the men who taught it and I did not ask the Holy Spirit to teach me what truth is. That has all changed now.
The Testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy
The bible clearly tells us that God is pouring out His Spirit on ALL flesh.
“Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.” (Joel 2:28-29, Acts 2:17-18)
As a maidservant of the Lord I have easily had hundreds of dreams (that I recall) since I started to experience dreams from the Lord in 2008. Many of those dreams have already come to pass; including dreams where the Lord showed me about new jobs, moving, end of relationships, new ministry, etc. Last year I had a dream from the Lord where He showed me I was going to Florida. I did not understand why or when this would occur. But this is now coming to pass!
The testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy (Rev 19:10) and He absolutely prophesies into our life and shows us things in advance so that we know He is sovereign over our lives. There is nothing that He does not know about us! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, so why wouldn’t He prophesy to us, just as He prophesied to the seven churches of Asia Minor? Jesus has ABSOLUTELY NOT stopped prophesying to His church.
To those who believe that the rapture is at any moment and therefore Jesus can’t prophesy into our life by giving a dream about the future I would say to you, ask and allow the Holy Spirit to be your teacher and lead you in all truth. That is really the issue at hand. Are we going to follow men and their doctrines and traditions, or are we going to follow Jesus? I made a course correction about 2 1/2 years ago that I was going to follow the Holy Spirit and let Him teach me and guide me. That includes who I should be listening to, because the Lord Himself does choose teachers for His people. (Eph 4:11-12).
Christianity is filled with man’s interpretation and opinion, and very little revelation from the Holy Spirit. Believe me when I say that I am not smart enough to come up with this information on my own. It came by revelation from the Holy Spirit. Since we truly are the last generation and we really do not know for certain how much time we have, don’t you think we had better start listening to the Holy Spirit and stop following the doctrines of men?
The scripture that the Lord led me to for the year 2016 is John chapter 16. I would get your bible out and look up all the scriptures I am referencing.
In this chapter Jesus speaks to His disciples about the following:
The coming of the Holy Spirit, John 16:7-15
He says farewell, for in a short time they will not see Him, but then they will see Him again, John 16:17-22
Jesus speaks of a birthing of a child in John 16:21
Soon they will understand plainly and clearly what He is speaking to them and He will no longer speak in veiled language (parables and proverbs), John 16:25-30
Since God changes not, (Mal 3:6, Heb 13:8) the Lord still uses prophetic experiences in the lives of His people just as we read about in scripture. I have been undergoing an experience in my life that the Lord has used to confirm that the pattern in John 16 is for this season in time.
Additionally, I have had my eyes opened to patterns in the Gospels concerning the first coming of Jesus that are pointing to how events may transpire for our time. Now stay with me as I try to unfold this the way it has been downloaded to me. I would pray about it and read the scriptures with fresh eyes.
What the Holy Spirit Revealed to me in John 16
The Lord has repeatedly shown me, (and MANY others) a great move of the Holy Spirit coming upon prepared vessels according to Hosea 6:3, Isaiah 60:1-5, Haggai 2:9, and Psalm 24:3-6, etc. And these vessels will bring in a harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God according to James 5:7-8 and Matthew 22:8-14, before Jesus comes for His bride.
In John 16:7-15 where Jesus speaks about the coming of the Spirit, the Lord used those scriptures to confirm to me the pattern and timing of His end time outpouring beginning in 2016.
The Outpouring of the Spirit of Christ Pours Out Like Rain
In John 16:17-22, the Lord tells His disciples He is going away for a little while, and then after a little while they will see Him. And this did occur when Jesus was arrested, crucified, placed in the tomb for three days, then He resurrected. On the third day when Jesus rose He appeared to His disciples. This pattern also speaks to me of Hosea 6:2-3. Below is that text in 2 different versions.
2 After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. 3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. NKJV
2 After two days He will revive us (quicken us, give us life); on the third day He will raise us up that we may live before Him 3 Yes, let us know (recognize, be acquainted with, and understand) Him; let us be zealous to know the Lord [to appreciate, give heed to, and cherish Him]. His going forth is prepared and certain as the dawn, and He will come to us as the [heavy] rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth. AMP
These scriptures are packed with layers of prophetic significance. It speaks of the 2000 year church age in the first part of Hosea 6:2 after two days (2000 years) He will revive us;On the third day He will raise us up.
The third day speaks of the end of the 2000 year church age, which is where we are currently, and the beginning of the Kingdom age, when Jesus literally comes back with His resurrected Saints (those He raised up) and lives among men on the earth.
But also verse 3 is speaking of the Lord coming after 2000 years to His people who have been zealous to know Him and have pursued Him. Come to us like the rain means He will “pour” out on His people and will come to them as sure as the morning comes, just like He did at Pentecost. But this time, it will be even GREATER than that, as signified by the terms latter and former rain coming all at once!
A Man-Child is Born
In John 16:21 I find it very interesting that the verse speaks of the birthing of a child. I believe this confirms to me that at the very least something new is going to be birthed in the bride of Christ.
John 16:21 A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief (anguish, agony) because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has been born into the world. AMP
This is fascinating because when I was praying about this and have read the chapter over and over, this verse really spoke to me about Revelation 12:1-5. Those verses speak of a woman (the church) clothed with the sun, and ready to give birth. In verse 5 the woman gives birth to a “man-child” who will rule the earth. This speaks of Jesus, but I believe it also speaks of a people who have conformed to His image and grown into the full measure of the stature of Christ, that will sit on His throne.
Revelation12:5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. NKJV
I believe that “man-child” is the bride of Christ who are the overcomers spoken of in Revelation chapters 2 and 3.
Revelation 5:10 says the overcomers will reign over the earth as kings and priests. Revelation 3:21 says the overcomers will sit on the Lords throne with Him. That means the overcomers will rule and reign with Him.
Rev 5:10 And You have made them a kingdom (royal race) and priests to our God, and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!
Rev 3:21 ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
A Clear, Plain and Perfect Word
In John 16:25-30, Jesus tells His disciples that soon they will understand plainly and clearly what He is speaking and He will no longer speak to them in veiled language. Up until that time He had spoken to them in parables, proverbs and dark, veiled language. But He assures them that when the Spirit comes He will no longer speak to them in that way.
I believe this speaks about a clear and precise way the Lord will communicate with His people when He comes to them in the outpouring. I believe this also speaks of unsealing of scripture and receiving revelation knowledge like never before.
No longer will we misinterpret scripture, and misunderstand, and only know part of what His message is to us, because Jesus will relay a clear message that is precise and perfect.
It’s interesting that there is a scripture that speaks about this. Although most Spirit filled Christians interpret this as meaning after Jesus returns, I am seeing something else here.
1 Corinthians 13: 9 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect).
10 But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).
I believe these verses could be speaking of the time just ahead of us, when Jesus comes to the overcomers like a great rain and empowers them to speak a clear and precise word to the world. This is what Jesus did when He spoke to the woman at the well in John 4:4-29.
John 4:28 Then the woman left her water jar and went away to the town. And she began telling the people, 29 Come, see a Man Who has told me everything that I ever did! Can this be [is not this] the Christ? [Must not this be the Messiah, the Anointed One?] AMP
This clear and precise word will definitely get the attention of people just like it did the woman at the well! Then they will say, surly Jesus is the Messiah!
John 14:12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
Over the 2000 years of church history I guess it’s possible there have been some who have done greater things than Jesus. His 12 Apostles certainly did some amazing things. But I don’t think we know for sure because we don’t know everything that Jesus did.
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did. If they should be all recorded one by one [in detail], I suppose that even the world itself could not contain (have room for) the books that would be written.
Therefore, I believe this was left ambiguous for a reason. And the reason is because the things we are going to see in this coming move of God will be so stupendous that people will not be able to compare it to anything. But this time, it will be recorded on every type of recording device imaginable and uploaded to YouTube! I really believe that! Praise God!
Releasing the Word of the Lord and the Coming Move of God
On December 16, 2015 I had this dropped into my spirit so strongly that I knew I had to write it down. I have been releasing this by speaking it forth in prayer and declaring this according to the scripture in Zechariah 10:1.
1 Ask the LORD for rain
In the time of the latter rain.
The LORD will make flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone.
I believe that as the bride of Christ, we must pray for God’s will, and it is His will to fulfill His word and pour Himself out upon His people like heavy rains to empower them to bring in a harvest of souls.
The move of God that is coming will be in the streets, highways and byways according to Matthew 22:9-10. This will pave the way for the Lords Kingdom that will permeate all of society on the earth for 1000 years. Church will move into the marketplace and society at large. The old tent revival where people came to be healed and delivered is an old model.
The new way, which is really the old way when Jesus came the first time, will see a multitude of deliverances done by a multitude of deliverers in the streets, the workplace, marketplace, Internet etc.
The deliverers will go to the people just like Jesus and His disciples did. People will be set free, healed and delivered with a WORD! Just like Jesus when He met the woman at the well and told her everything she ever did, we will meet people where they are, give them a clear and precise word, and they will believe, repent and be delivered!
